If you are new to my blog -Hello and welcome! I’m Jana Donohoe, a full time interior designer, and kind of a part time blogger. I’m really excited to be participating again as a guest in my third One Room Challenge! Thank you to Linda of Calling it Home and House Beautiful for organizing and creating this event so that I have an excuse to actually make time to work on my own home! If you are just chiming in, today is a great day to do so. It’s the moment everyone cares about and get’s most excited about. It’s the end of the fall One Room Challenge. YESSS! I made it out alive..barely. Sleep deprived but alive.
For those not familiar with the One Room Challenge (aka- ORC) it’s a biannual event (October and April) where 20 invited design bloggers makeover a room in six crazy filled weeks and blog about the process every Wednesday. I joined in on the fun as a Guest participant to conquer my daughter’s bedroom this round. If you need to catch up on my 7 week journey you can click below for each weeks process and progress.
Today I will be sharing all the pretty after photos and a few before’s so you can see where we started. That’s always fun, right? Embarrassing but fun! (Yes, interior designer homes need help too) 🙂 Out of the 3 ORC challenges I have entered this has to be my favorite one. Revealing my very sweet daughter Genevieve’s bedroom to her was so joyous and made my mamma heart sing! She is such a good kid, she deserves a special place to call her own and now she has that! (sniff, sniff)
Shall we take a look back 7 short weeks ago where we began? When it was a playroom. It makes me cringe looking at all that stuff. :/ Which is why I use to just close the door and walk away. Ugh. These photos give me anxiety.
Getting to the AFTER
In true ORC fashion I was literally painting a few things the day before the photographer came. Paint still drying but hey I got it done for the most part. A few things didn’t make it for the photo shoot and literally showed up 2 hours after she wrapped up. Oh well-such is life! You just have to roll on! They didn’t break the design plan…thank goodness.
I know most you came here to see the after photo’s so I will stop babbling. Here we go…Drum roll, please!
What do you think? A little better, huh? Leave me a comment and let me know what you liked best!!
You definitely don’t want to miss the sponsored and participant reveals. So much inspiration! Check them out HERE. Thanks for stopping by I hope you enjoyed the end result! Follow me on INSTAGRAM and Instagram stories to see the last minute touches I was working on and behind the scene peeks.
