Spring 2024 One Room Challenge- Wk 3

Spring 2024 One Room Challenge- Wk 3

This week feels like a turning point in the project, with significant strides made towards bringing the design to fruition. The highlight of the week? The majority of the bookcases are now installed, marking a major milestone in the transformation process. There’s something truly magical about seeing rows of shelves ready to be filled with treasures and cocktail essentials.

But of course, no project is without its tweaks and adjustments, and Week 3 saw a few minor design changes – all for the better. Sometimes, it’s these small tweaks that make the biggest impact, ensuring that every detail is just right and aligns perfectly with the overall vision for the space. I had to revise the center bookcase. The electrical outlet was getting in my way. So I decided to make the center section a little bigger and house a TV. Do you remember my inspo picture? This is the look I am going for.

Looking ahead, there’s still plenty of work to be done. The agenda for the coming days includes finishing the installation of the last bookcase, along with lots of sanding and more painting to ensure a flawless finish throughout the room. It’s all about those finishing touches that will elevate the space from ordinary to extraordinary.

This is my top DIY / ORC tip for you: Have Home Depot make your cuts for you! This will save you so much time. They have all the professional grade machines. Use them. Stay tuned for more updates as I continue on this whirlwind adventure of design, DIY, and unexpected twists and turns. I will try to do a longer more in depth post next week. Right now, I am exhausted.

Cheers to progress!
